Elevator Projects invites you to Meet, Greet and Get to Know Them on 18 September at 2pm
One of the Capital Region’s most creative emerging arts organizations, Elevator Projects, invites you to be part of their world. Founding director Raina Wirta will offer an information session and meet-and-greet for any interested people at 2pm on 18 September at the Walls Project Art & Design Center, ground floor of Chase Towers. The space, occupied by the city’s creative forces and emerging producers, is supported by the Arts Council as an incubator and common ground for the exchange of ideas.

This event will feature live music by the Chee Weez. The Chee-Weez are a 5 piece cover/show band that specialize in making sure YOU – the audience – have a great time and leave with a smile. From the ever-expanding stage show including lights, pyro, and a 17 FOOT video wall, to the off-the-cuff antics and crowd involvement, you never know WHAT you’ll see next at the Chee-Weez show!
All Proceeds from this event benefit Youth Oasis Children’s Shelter. Youth Oasis provides emergency shelter and necessary support services to run away, abandoned and homeless youth ages 10 – 17 and young adults 18 – 25 within the state of Louisiana enabling them to transition into responsible and successful citizens.
Calling all local artists, EP supporters, patrons of the arts, friends, volunteers, and art enthusiasts wanting to contribute to the most exciting city-wide event the Baton Rouge art community has experienced to date!!
We are looking for art-loving volunteers who want to help transform a 15,000 square foot business office into a bonafide gallery space for Baton Rouge’s first regional extension of the international art biennial, Prospect New Orleans!
The gallery will host over 80 artists for the 13 week biennial starting October 25. It is the largest invitational exhibition Baton Rouge has ever hosted!
THIS SATURDAY! Come dressed and ready to paint, make new friends, see old ones, and connect with some of the artists in Baton Rouge. Volunteers are welcome to stay as long as they’re able, and any support provided is greatly appreciated.
The gallery is located on the 4th floor of the Chase Tower South, downtown Baton Rouge.
We’ll be starting at 8AM. If you like to tape things and have a keen eye for detail, show up early!

EP founding members David Contreras and Raina Wirta present new work at the Gallery at The Manship Theatre at The Shaw Center for the Arts for Prospect.3+ Baton Rouge from November 5 – January 7, 2015.
A mixed-media exhibition featuring oil paintings and drawings by David Contreras, and collage installation by Raina Wirta. Both artists explore themes of the human relationship with ritual domestic objects, the familiarity of a habitat dwelling, personal heritage, and memories of childhood experiences using an array of imagery and text.
Opening reception November 5th, 6pm.
