First Thursday is an organization of gay men and
women age 21 and over in the Baton Rouge area seeking to meet and get
to know each other in a social, informal, and non-threatening
environment. We conduct low-key free to be you dinner-time socials,
usually on the first Thursday of each month, at homes or other
locations arranged by members. Each member and guest attending pays a
small fee at the door to reimburse the host for expenses incurred.
There are also special parties in July and December. Visit our
website for more information regarding membership, costs, and
activities.
The Krewe of Apollo Baton Rouge was
formed in 1981 to foster brotherhood, fraternal and social unity in the
Baton Rouge community. Each Mardi Gras season, Krewe members invite
1,000 guests to our annual Bal Masque. Membership in the Krewe of
Apollo is open to men over the age of 21. Associate memberships are
also available.
Tailgatin' Bankrupt Tigers was started by a small group of LSU football fans that began tailgating together before LSU home football games. Its mission is to provide a fun atmosphere for GLBT sports fans (and those just looking to party) and their families. All walks of life are welcome and many straight people participate weekly. Geaux Tigers!
The group has grown over the years and welcomes new people weekly. TBT includes LSU fans of all sports and can be found tailgating for many different LSU sporting events.
LGBT professionals, other workers and retirees meet for lunch at an area restaurant the 2nd Thursday of each month for socializing and professional networking.
